Abstract:
PURPOSE: To realize a gas discharge display tube eliminating reducing Xe, which is ultraviolet emitting gas, according to the lapse of time, accordingly, preventing generation of decreasing brightness and changing color.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent anode 24 is formed in an opposed surface of a front substrate 14, and also a cathode draw out pattern 18, cathode holding layer 22 and a columnar cathode 20 formed of emitter substance, mixing GdB6 and BaAl2O4, are formed in an opposed surface of a back substrate 12. The front/back substrates 14, 12 are oppositely arranged with a prescribed space apart, to form a discharge cell 30 between the electrodes, and peripheral edges of both the substrates are sealed to mold an air-tight vessel 16, so as to seal its inside with discharge gas, containing Xe as the ultraviolet radiation gas, and phosphor 32.
