To provide a gas exchange valve for a combustion engine equipped with a valve stem and a valve element, especially for a diesel combustion engine.
The valve stem is linearly-movably guided in the recessed portion of a valve stem guide. The valve seat surface of the valve stem is cooperated with a valve seat ring. In a closed state, the valve seat surface presses the valve seat ring. In an opened state, the valve seat surface is lifted from the valve ring. In order to seal a gap between the valve stem and the recessed portion of the valve stem guide, at least one sliding ring, made of material having temperature resistance such as metal material or ceramic material, is engaged with the notch of the valve stem or the notch of the valve stem guide. The thickness of one or respective sliding rings is smaller than the width of notches engaged with the respective sliding rings. Therefore, a lubricant passes the respective sliding rings by a predetermined pumping action when the valve stem moves.
