Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-liquid separation structure of an internal combustion engine capable of improving lubrication performance of a sliding portion of a cam shaft while facilitating a gas-liquid separation performance of a blow-by gas.SOLUTION: A plate member 24 having a plurality of gas circulation holes 24A for making a blow-by gas collide with a ceiling surface 4c of a cylinder head cover 4 above an inlet 20A by increasing a flow rate of the blow-by gas flowing into a gas-liquid separation chamber 19 from a valve chamber 15, is disposed on the inlet 20A for communicating the valve chamber 15 with the gas-liquid separation chamber 19. The plate member 24 has an oil discharge hole 24B for discharging the oil from the gas-liquid separation chamber 19 to the valve chamber 15, the oil discharge hole 24B of the plate member 24 is formed in a state of being overlapped to a cam cap 12A in the vertical direction, and the cam cap 12A is provided with an oil supply passage 25 having one end portion 25a opened toward the oil discharge hole 24b, and the other end portion 25b opened toward a cam journal 5a of an intake cam shaft 5.
