This gas purifying material is obtained by raising the surface of an air-permeable base material, scattering the particulate adsorbent on the raised surface and heating the adsorbent-scattered base material so that the particulate adsorbent can be stuck to the raised surface by melting fusing polymer particles scattered together with the particulate adsorbent or a fibrous fusing polymer constituting the base material.
