Title:
GAS SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3853472
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve adhesion to an electrode protective film by increasing the film strength of a metal oxide electrode as detection electrode and the adhesion to a substrate to enhance the sensitivity as sensor with a stability of the electrode.
SOLUTION: This gas sensor is designed to measure an electromotive force between a gas detection electrode 2 provided on a solid electrolyte 1 as ion conducting body and a counter electrode 3 or a control electrode paired with the gas detection electrode. The gas detection electrode is a metal oxide electrode which contains SiO2 or a glass powder containing SiO2 as a mixed phase. The amount of the SiO2 or the glass powder containing the SiO2 is 1-3 wt.% of the electrode involved. In this case, the metal oxide herein used is an oxide of Cr or Ni or a composite oxide having Cr or Ni as component element. The solid electrolyte herein used is a green sheet made' of zirconia.
