PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a weight saving of a rotary kiln by eliminating a carbonization furnace having burners installed therein.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a rotary kiln 50 in which a rear part at a feeding-in port 51 of a treated item 100 is set to be higher than a front side of a discharging port 52, a secondary combustion device 70 for igniting inner first carbonization gas G1 by a burner and a gas heating device 80 for flowing the first carbonization gas G1 to an outer pipe 82 to heat the second carbonization gas G2 in the inner pipe 81 are connected. A gas outlet 51a at a feeding port 51 side is connected to an inlet 71 of a secondary combustion device 70 and similarly the gas outlet 51a is connected to an inner pipe inlet end 81a of the gas heating device 80, an outlet 72 of the secondary combustion device 70 is connected to an outer pipe one end 82a of the gas heating device 80, an inner pipe output end 81b of the gas heating device 80 is connected to a gas inlet 52a of the discharging port 52 side, a discharging duct D5 is connected to the other end 82b of the gas heating device 80, and the carbonization gas is flowed in the secondary combustion device 70, to the outlet side in the inner pipe 81 of the gas heating device 80, to the other end side in the outer pipe 82 and to the feeding-in side in the rotary kiln 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
