A gas turbine blade (11a, 11b, 13a, 13b) has a ceramic cover (27a, 27b) on a metal platform (23a, 23b), mechanically fixed to it so that the metal platform is protected against the hot gas (17) flowing through the hot gas channel (9) of the gas turbine. The ceramic cover may be made in two halves.
