To provide a gasket material obtained by "it"-calendering a chemically exfoliated vermiculite (CEV) base endowed with a high stress retention power, a high load tolerating capacity, a high chemical resistance, and an improved high-temperature sealing capacity.
The provided gasket material comprises fiber components, a rubber component obtained from a rubber solution, and an additional elastic material and is manufactured by means of IT calendering; the fiber components comprise a finely fiberized component and an additional fiber component consisting of a mineral fiber; the additional fiber component accounts for 15-40 wt.% of the final dry gasket; the gasket material includes a chemically exfoliated vermiculite (CEV) as the additional elastic material. Less than 10 wt.% of the rubber component is included within the dry gasket material. 1-95 wt.% of the elastic material component is included within the gasket material.
