Title:
TRIETHYLAMINE FUNCTIONALIZED ELASTOMER FOR BARRIER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2014028959
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an elastomer and a nanocomposite that can be used for air barrier application in a tire industry, and that has improvement of a barrier property and controllability of processability.

A halogenation elastomer in which a part is functionalized by triethylamine in a mixture including a filler and a cure package, is suitable to application of an air barrier of an inner tube or a tire inner liner. The halogenation elastomer may be a polymer that includes: a C4-C7 isoolefin derived unit, a para alkyl styrene derived unit, a para-(haloalkyl styrene) derived unit and a para-(triethyl ammonium alkyl styrene) derived unit. A Mooney viscosity of the elastomer can be controlled by a functionalized degree of triethylamine functionalization. A method of producing an article by using the triethylamine functionalized elastomer is disclosed.
