Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gasket capable of securing good sealing performance while preventing a deformed portion possibly formed when compressed and deformed, from being scattered therearound.SOLUTION: The gasket for sealing a space between a first exhaust pipe 11 and a second exhaust pipe 12 is constructed by using an expanded graphite tape and a metal mesh material. The gasket includes a first seal part 51, a second seal part 52, a first cutout part 53 having a first cutout face 53a exposed toward a space on the radial outside, and a second cutout part 54 having a second cutout face 54a forming a storage space 63 between a first flange face 25 of a first flange 21 and itself to allow the entry of the deformed portion of the first seal part compressed and deformed. The second seal part is constructed to contact a flange face 35 of a second flange 22 on the further radially outside than a contact position between the first seal part and the flange face of the first flange.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
