PURPOSE: To prolong the useful life of a gauze for screen process printing and enable the gauze to be used stably by plating the gauze with a metal at least at both end parts along the moving direction of a squeegee and the vicinity of the end parts.

CONSTITUTION: End parts of a gauze 30 for screen process printing which extend along the moving direction of a squeegee and the vicinity of the end parts are plated with a metal, whereby cut end parts of metallic wires 31 or the like constituting the end parts of the gauze are protected by the deposited metal 32. Thus, both end parts of the gauze extending along the moving direc tion of the squeegee are covered by the deposited metal, so that the cut end parts of the metallic wires, synthetic resin yarns or the like constituting the gauge are next exposed to the surface. Since the end parts of the gauze and the vicinity thereof are covered by plating with the metal, the end parts are reinforced sufficiently, so that cracking in the end parts or the vicinity thereof is prevented even when some external forces are exerted thereon, and it is possible to prolong the useful life of the gauze 30 and to use the gauze 30 in a stable condition.
