PURPOSE: A gel composition, slowly soluble in hot water, obtained by incorporating a water-soluble gelling agent with a higher polyhydric alcohol as essential components, capable of slowly eluting an active constituent at a specific ratio and useful as a base composition for various bath agents, aromatic agents, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The titled composition, obtained by incorporating (A) 0.5W50wt%, particularly 1W30wt%, based on the total composition, water-soluble gelling agent, preferably carrageenan, agar, polyvinyl alcohol or gelatin with (B) 1W50wt%, particularly 5W35wt%, based on the total composition, higher polyhydric alcohol, preferably polyethylene glycol, sorbitol, mannitol, glucose or sucrose, particularly polyethylene glycol having 5W100 polymerization degree or polypropylene glycol having 7W35 polymerization degree as a dissolution adjustor as essential components, quantitatively soluble in hot water at 30W50°C and capable of slowly eluting an active constituent, e.g. perfume, for a long period.
