To obtain an inexpensive gelatinous fuel composition easily portable, excellent in storage stability, apart from any oil stains when handled, good in flammability so as to leave scarcely any ashes after a complete burning and remote from such a trouble as to leak a liquid component by any pressure applied thereto.

This composition comprises (A) a liquid hydrocarbon fuel, (B) a 16-20C hydroxy fatty acid and (C) totally ≥80% a synthetic polymer adapted to swell in the presence of the component A as indispensable components, totally is an amount of ≥80 mass % based on the composition wherein weight ratios A/B and (A+B)/C are (80/20) to (99/1) and (90/10) to (99.9/0.1), respectively.
