PURPOSE: To reduce the projecting amount of a lens barrel and to make a camera thin in thickness and small in size by attaching a glass barrier to the front surface of a receiving part provided in the opening part of the front surface side of the lens barrel.
CONSTITUTION: An annular receiving part 23 is integrally provided on the inner peripheral surface of the front-side opening part of the lens barrel 6 and a recessed part 30 is provided on the front side inner peripheral part of the receiving part 23. The glass barrier 20 is fitted/fixed in the recessed part 30 and simultaneously an ornamental plate 31 is fixed on the front surface of the receiving part 23 to cover the front-side outer peripheral part of the glass barrier 20. The depth of the recessed part 30 is almost equal to the plate thickness of the glass barrier 20 to form the same plane by the front surfaces of the lens barrel 6 and the glass barrier 20. Thus, the projecting amount (c) of the lens barrel 6 at the time of photographing can be reduced by the plate thickness (a) of a part where the recessed part 30 of the receiving part 23 is formed. Further, the lens barrel 6 can be retracted in the camera body 3 by the projecting amount (c) to reduce the thickness (e) of a camera body by the thickness (a) of the receiving part 23.
