Title:
GLASS-BASED AND GLASS-CERAMIC-BASED COMPOSITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3387531
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a low dielectric constant, a low dissipation factor, and improved thermal expansiblity and mechanical strength by incorporating mullite bubbles dispersed in a glass matrix.
CONSTITUTION: Slurry (A) comprising a matrix is obtained by blending ingredients selected from the group of a liquid medium such as toluene, a plasticizer such as glycerol, a binder, mullite bubbles, glass powder based upon borosilicate, glass powder based upon aluminosilicate, glass-ceramic powder based upon aluminosilicate, etc. A molding (B) is obtained by molding the component (A) by using a tape injection mold, etc., and dried in air at 25-40°C to produce an unsinerted composite ceramic material which comprises a borosilicate-based glass powder matrix, an aluminosilicate-based glass-ceramic powder matrix, etc., contains 15-70 vol.% mullite bubbles of 1 to 50 μm in diameter, and has a dielectric constant of approximately 2 to 6 (1 MHz) at about 25°C.
