Glass raw material consisting of 50 to 95 wt.% bottle glass cullet containing 0.01 to 0.5 wt.% Cr2O3, 0 to 0.05 wt.% CuO and 0 to 0.003 wt.% CoO and 50 to 50 wt.% correction batch is melted and is vitrified. The molten glass is then molded to a pair of block pieces having recessed parts and, thereafter, the open end edges of both block pieces are fused, by which the hollow glass bottle is produced.
