Abstract:
To obtain a glass chopped strand mat having an excellent affinity for mold or die free from the outbreak of a spring back useful as a reinforcing material of glass fiber-reinforced plastics by specializing the bulk density of the glass chopped strand mat and the average strand yarn number.
This mat has the bulk density and average strand yarn number of 180-450kg/m3 and 10-40 tex, respectively and allowed to be easily immersed by an unsaturated polyester resin by optimizing the volume of void of the mat while reducing the elastic rebound. This mat manifests an excellent affinity for mold or die even in the case when the mold has a small sinuosity and has good workability.
