Title:
GLOBAL CLOCK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63259490
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate erroneous reading of time in a 24hr display global clock, by emitting light in different colors for three time zones -- morning and evening, daytime and night.

CONSTITUTION: When counters 5 and 6 count time for a time zone of daytime from 8W16 o'clock, current flows through an LED 11 through diodes d8Wd16 by an output of a decoder 8 to produce a red display on a display section 9. During the period 5W7 o'clock in the morning and that of 17W19 o'clock in the evening, current flows through LEDs 10 and 11 through diodes d5Wd7 and d17Wd19 respectively to produce an orange display on the display section 9. Moreover, in the time zone at night from 20W4 o'clock, current flows through the LED 10 through diodes d20Wd4 to produce a green display on the display section 9. Thus, varying color of the display section according to the time zone facilitates discrimination between AM and PM even when time is displayed from 1W12 o'clock, thereby eliminating erroneous reading of time.
