Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology about a glow plug.SOLUTION: A glow plug comprises: a ceramic heater including a columnar base body made of insulating ceramics and extending along an axial line, a resistance heating element buried in the base body and performing resistance heating by electrical energization and an electrode extraction part electrically connected to the resistance heating element and exposed on the outer circumferential surface of the base body; a cylindrical housing for storing a part of the ceramic heater in it in a state in which the tip end of the ceramic heater is protruded; and a cylindrical outer cylinder arranged more on the tip end side of the ceramic heater in the axial line direction from the housing, storing a part of the ceramic heater in a state in which the tip end of the ceramic heater is exposed and having an abutting part abutted against a tapered seat surface of a plug fixing hole of an internal combustion engine. The inner circumferential part of the outer cylinder comes in contact with the outer circumferential surface of the ceramic heater, and the electrode extraction part is arranged in the housing and is arranged separately from the outer cylinder.
