To develop a sheet having a surface platen as realistic as the surface of a gold foil by a method wherein an aluminum- or chromium-deposited film are formed instead of the decoration by the gold foil on a base made of a plywood, a medium-density fiber board or the like so as to further provided a colored layer on the deposited film.

An uneven pattern layer 12 made to imitate the surface pattern of a gold foil, a light reflecting layer 13 made of a thin metal film such as an aluminum-deposited film or the like and a golden colored layer 14 are formed in the order named on the surface of a base material sheet 11 so as to form a gold foil-like sheet 1. By laminating this gold foil-like sheet 1 through an adhesive layer 15 onto a base 16 such as a plywood, a medium density fiber board or the like, a gold foil-like member 2 is produced. The obtained gold foil-like sheet and the gold foil-like member 2 have a surface pattern bearing a likeness to that of a gold foil and, in addition, a similar metallic luster as the gold foil, resulting in realizing a surface very realistic to that of the gold foil.
