To provide a golf ball travelling a greater distance.
The golf ball comprises a spherical core and one or more cover layers covering the spherical core. The spherical core is formed from a rubber composition containing a base rubber, a co-crosslinking agent, a crosslinking initiator, a filler, and a polynuclear aromatic organic sulfur compound or a derivative thereof, and the spherical core has a specific hardness distribution without decreasing hardness from the center toward the surface of the spherical core in JIS-C hardness. The hardness distribution satisfies a formula B<A≤C, wherein A=(a hardness H5 at 5 mm in distance from the center of the spherical core minus a hardness H0 at the center of the spherical core), B=(a hardness H12.5 at 12.5 mm in distance from the center of the spherical core minus the hardness H5 at 5 mm in distance from the center of the spherical core), and C=(a hardness Hs on the surface of the spherical core minus the hardness H12.5 at 12.5 mm in distance from the center of the spherical core).
