To prevent internal damage or wire breaking by preventing an excess stress from being imposed on a thin cable or connector parts at both ends of the cable in the case of fitting the antenna system to a support with screws.
The antenna system is provided with a cylindrical antenna holder 30, a GPS antenna module 12 placed at its upper end, an antenna retainer 14, a thin cable 16 connecting to the antenna module, a thick cable 20 that is supported at a narrow wall part in the middle of the inside of the antenna holder by a packing 22, and a connector part 34 that connects the thick cable to the thin cable. The connector 34 consists of female and male connector main bodies 36a, 36b and a connector housing 38. An upper half 40a and a lower half 40c of an auxiliary metallic fixture 40 are inserted respectively into a longitudinal groove 32b formed inside the antenna holder and into a longitudinal groove 38a formed on the outer face of the connector housing to prevent turning of the connector housing around a shaft and movement in the longitudinal direction by retaining the auxiliary metallic fixture 40 by the antenna retainer 14.
