To provide a granulation method and apparatus for preparing granules of an adsorbent having a high density and an intended diameter with a higher efficiency than by a prior art technology.
The granulation method comprises a step of compressing a raw material powder 1 for forming a sheet molding 2 of a high density using a roller type powder compression molding machine 5, wherein the thickness of the sheet molding 2 is made to match the intended size of the granulated product; and a subsequent crushing step for crushing the sheet molding 2 using a roller crusher 21 equipped with a pair of rotary rollers 22 and 23 each having channels 26 and 27 respectively on their peripher surfaces mutually intersecting at right angles as the pair of rotary rollers 22 and 23, each of the top surfaces of the channels 26 and 27 being spaced apart by a gap matching the intended size of the granulated product, by which the sheet molding 2 is caused to crack simultaneously in longitudinal and transverse directions and crushed into the granulated product of the intended size.
