PURPOSE: To grind a ceramic cylindrical body extremely easily and quickly by bringing the outer peripheral face of the cylindrical body into contact with a belt sander and rotating the cylindrical body being driven by the belt sander.
CONSTITUTION: The contact face with a belt sander 10 of the outer peripheral face of a ceramic cylindrical body 20 is ground by the belt sander 10, when the ceramic cylindrical body 20 supported on a support member is brought into contact with the belt sander 10. Also, the ceramic cylindrical body 20 is rotated at the peripheral speed slower than the traveling speed of the belt sander 10 by the frictional force accompanying to this contact and the whole of the outer peripheral face of the ceramic cylindrical body 20 is ground uniformly without exception.
