PURPOSE: To guide a running body surely and precisely by providing a running direction detecting means on a running toy and providing a running board where guide means formed by material sensitive to magnetism of the detecting means is laid.

CONSTITUTION: A running toy A has a main body 1 formed to be light-weighted, to which left and right rear wheels 2, 3 as running wheels and one driving wheel 4 positioned in front of the rear wheels are fitted. An arm 14 crank-like in side, which is projected forward down, has a permanent magnet 15 as a running direction detecting means slightly brought into sliding contact with the running surface, and the magnet 15 is disposed in the front of a main body from the driving wheel 4. Accordingly, the curve of the running path is detected by the magnet 15 and simultaneously the magnet exhibits a guiding function of turning the driving wheel 4 along the curve. A base 20 and a linear guide means 23 formed by ferromagnetic material, which is laid in a groove 22 formed along a running path 21, are provided on a running board B.
