To provide an Fe-Ni-Co-Ti based alloy which is a crystalline metallic material and yet exhibits high strength close to that of an amorphous metallic material.
An alloy comprises nickel (Ni) of 15 to 25 atom%, cobalt (Co) of 25 to 44 atom% and titanium (Ti) of 1 to 12 atom%, and the balance iron (Fe) with inevitable impurities when the whole is defined as 100 atom%, wherein 0.68≤X/(Y+Z)≤0.75 is satisfied when the content of Fe is defined as X atom%, the content of Ni is defined as Y atom%, and the content of Co is defined as Z atom%, The above alloy is subjected to cold severe plastic deformation to obtain an Fe-Ni-Co-Ti based alloy having a layered structure. This alloy is a high strength material having a tensile strength of ≥2,500 MPa, a ratio of the tensile strength to a Young's modulus of ≥0.016.
