The hair iron 10 is provided with a gripping main body 12 where two base bodies are oppositely connected to each other and rotatable around an axis as a center and a hair nipping part consisting of a hair rest member 14 provided on one base body and a hair pressing member 13 provided on the other base body, wherein the hair rest member 14 is provided with a heating plate A and the hair pressing member 13 is provided with a heating plate B facing the plate A. The hair rest member 14 with the plate A is provided with recess parts 14a and 14b devoid of the plate A, provided on both sides along the plate A in a longitudinal direction and curved for resting a lock of the hair. The hair pressing member 13 with the plate B facing the plate A is provided with protrusive parts 13a and 13b devoid of the plate B, provided on both sides along the plate B in a longitudinal direction and curved for pressing the lock of the hair to the inner surfaces of the recess parts 14a and 14b of the hair rest member 14 to nip the lock of the hair.
