Abstract:

To provide a hair iron in which steam discharged from steam holes in a hot plate does not touch to skin, fingers or hand of the user.

This hair iron has a hot plate 10 the surface of which is corrugated in cross section, a heater 50 to heat the hot plate 10, a pressing plate 20 to hold hair between the hot plate 10 and itself, and a steam generating means to discharge steam via steam holes 13 opened on the surface of the hot plate 10. Steam leakage blocking walls 71, 72 are provided on the extension line of the valley part of the hot plate 10. Steam holes 13 are opened in the valley part sandwiched between the ridge parts. Therefore steam discharged from the steam holes 13 is blocked by the ridge parts on both sides and prevented from leaking out sideward. In addition, steam expanding along the valley part is also blocked by the steam leakage blocking walls 71, 72 and prevented from leaking outward.
