To provide a hair treatment method for permanent wave or the like and a treatment device therefor by which the hair with kinks or curls is subjected to straight permanent setting, or the straight hair is easily subjected to permanent wave setting, and also as compared with the conventional hair treatment method, the hair condition after treatment can be maintained for a long period of time.

The whole of hair is divided into a plurality of groups, and the divided hair group is stretchedly held by a straightening brush whose upper and lower parts are formed in a brush shape. A roller 13 on the circumference of which prescribed grooves have been formed is arranged, and a panel 15 on which grooves 14 along the extension lines of the roller grooves are formed is arranged, and they are arranged in an orderly way along the roller and panel on one side of the opposite pressurizing means. The roller and panel on the other side being a pressurizing means is closed to hold the hair therebetween for applying a given pressure, and by drawing out the hair from the pressurizing means under this condition, prescribed permanent treatment is given to the hair.
