To reduce the force needed to operate the brake of a handcart having a brake lever provided in proximity to a handle.
The handcart comprises a cart body, wheels, brake shoes, the handle 4, and the brake lever 51. The brake shoes brake the wheels. The handle 4 is fixed to the cart body. The brake lever 51 is supported against the cart body while in proximity to the handle 4, and serves as a member gripped along with the handle 4 to release the brake shoes braking the wheels. The brake lever 51 has a grip 51a, a brake connection and a plane 54h to be supported. The brake connection is connected to the brake shoe via a pin 59 and a brake rod 53. The plane 54h to be supported is supported at a point against a supporting projection 55c fixed to the cart body.
