To provide a handle apparatus for a sliding door, which facilitates pulling of the sliding door, and allows an opening to be fully opened without leaving a non-pulled portion of the door.

The handle apparatus is mounted in the vicinity of the tip of the sliding door, such as a single sliding door and a double sliding door, which is pulled by sliding on a rail, in a groove, or the like. The handle apparatus consists of a mounting plate portion 10 rigidly mounted on the door 2, and a pair of handles 20 attached to the mounting plate portion 10 and separately arranged on both sides of the door 2. A part of the mounting plate portion 10 is extended from a front end surface of the door 2 to a location that bypasses the other adjacent door 2 or an adjacent door guide portion 3, and one of the handles 20 is attached to the mounting plate portion 10 at the bypassed location.
