PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a game soft progressed by vertical scroll or a game soft progressed by transverse scroll by setting a liquid crystal display part to a rectangular form, and specifying the setting positions of a plurality of operating means.
SOLUTION: A handy liquid crystal game machine 12 has a horizontally long rectangular liquid crystal display part 13 arranged about in the center, and a cross moving key 3 operated by the thumb of the left hand when the game machine 12 is held by both the hands is arranged near the left end of the upper long edge 13a of the liquid crystal display part 13. A passive operation key 4a and an active operation key 4b which are operated by the thumb of the right hand are juxtaposed with a difference in level near the right end of the upper long edge 13a away from the moving key 3, and arranged as a set of operation keys 4. Further, an operation key 14 formed of a passive operation key 14a and an active operation key 14b having the same function as the operation key 4 is arranged with a space from the moving key 3 near the lower end of the left short edge 13b of the liquid crystal display part 13 continued from the left end of the upper long edge 13a, and a start key 15 is arranged in the right lower part of the liquid crystal part 13.
