Abstract:

To provide a hard film which has excellent wear resistance and oxidation resistance.

The hard film is provided with: a surface layer consisting of a complex compound composed of one or more kinds of metallic elements selected from the group consisting of the group 4A, 5A and 6A elements in the Periodic Table, Si and one or more kinds of elements selected from the group consisting of N, C and B, or a mixture of the complex compounds; a layer directly above a base metal surface composed of one or more kinds of metallic elements selected from the group consisting of the 4A, 5A and 6A elements in the Periodic Table, and one or more kinds of elements selected from N, C and B, or a mixture of the complex compounds; and an intermediate layer with a gradient coating or a stacked structure consisting of the complex compound or the mixture of the complex compounds composing the surface layer and the layer directly above the base metal surface.
