Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful component heating and purifying device capable of realizing a high purifying efficiency in energy saving state by a compact and simple mechanism for heating, oxidizing and purifying harmful components such as -CO [carbon monoxide], HC [hydrocarbon], germs, mites or the like contained in various types of gas.SOLUTION: This invention comprises a communication part 30 communicating with upper part; more than three chambers having a bottom surface formed with an opening part 21 at lower part and other portions except the communication part partitioned by walls; heat storage body layers 12 and catalyst layers 14 cooperatively arranged at the chambers from their opening sides toward the communication part; and a heater device 24 arranged to be adjacent to the catalyst layers, the opening part is provided with a communication port communicated with a flow-in passage 32 for feeding harmful gas into the chamber, a communication port communicated with a flow-out passage 34 for discharging purified gas from the chamber, a communication port communicated with a purge passage 36 for feeding purge gas into the chamber. There are provided a damper 18 slidably and closely contacted with and mounted on the bottom surface and formed with a selective hole to cause one of the communication holes to be communicated to each other and a control device 50 for controlling an opening or closing of the communication ports with the damper.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
