Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly nip the hanging stem and leaf parts of root crops K by endless nipping belts to make it easy to cut the stem and leaf parts afterward.
SOLUTION: When the traveling body of a harvester for root crops has (A) a subsoiler for digging up root crops vegetating in the field by vibrating the lower part than that of the root part, (B) a pair of right and left endless nipping belts 3, 3 for nipping the stem and leaf parts of root crops K, drawing them out and conveying them, placed in such a way that the front edge parts are close to the surface of the field at its front side in an ongoing direction and the belts themselves are inclined from the front edge part to the rear part and (C) a cutter for removing the stem and leaf parts behind the belts 3, 3, the front end of one of belts has a divider 14 for sorting the stem and leaf parts of root crops not yet been dug from the stem and leaf part of root crops to be drawn out and a guide 56 for guiding the stem and leaf parts of root crops K to be drawn out to the gap between the front edge parts of the belts 3, 3 is placed in a protruding state in the case side of the divider 14.
