Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate ghost due to reflection in a head mount video display device available of seep-through configuration and to allow the display device to view an external field brightly.
CONSTITUTION: In the head mount video display device having a video display element 1, an eyepiece optical system including a half mirror 3 synthesizing the video image of the element 1 and an external image and introducing the synthesized image to an eye ball of a viewer, and a liquid crystal shutter 5 arranged in the vicinity of the eyepiece optical system and selecting the transmission or light interruption of an external light, the eye piece optical system and the liquid crystal shutter 5 are adhered (9) and a polarized plate 10 whose outer size is larger than the liquid crystal shutter 5 and arranged opposite to the liquid crystal shutter 5 with respect to the eye ball is provided, then it is avoided that an undesired light is made incident into the eye ball through the reflection on the surface of the liquid crystal shutter 5. Furthermore, the mechanism in the inside of the video display device is hardly seen externally and a preferred external appearance is realized.
