Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a head-mounted display device whose main body is made compact and using a reflection type LCD capable of obtaining a bright good video.
CONSTITUTION: The device is provided with a reflection type video display element reflection type LCD panel 14 for displaying the video with reflected light, an illuminating means fluorescent tube 10 for forming the reflected light and eyepiece optical systems 15 and 16 for guiding the video to observer's eyes, and also, the device is provided with the reflection type video display element 14 installed on a position where a display screen is nearly orthogonal to an optical axis formed by the eyepiece optical systems 15 and 16, then, a bright high-contrast video is obtained, besides, the optical path is bent so as to make the display system compact.
