Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a bright head light for a bicycle as the pedal load of a bicycle is decreased, by a method wherein the size of the contact rotary part of a dynamo for a bicycle is increased, a fluorescent lamp is used for a headlight, and a battery charger is mounted in parallel to a lighting circuit. CONSTITUTION:The size of the rotary part, making contact with a tyre, of a dynamo for a bicycle is set to at least 20 mm (heretofore 19 mm), and a fluorescent lamp is used for a lamp used for a headlight. A battery charger 4 by an Ni-Cd battery is mounted in parallel to a conversion-to-DC circuit 7 for a voltage by a dynamo 2 and a lighting circuit 6 by an inverter through change-over switches S1 and S2. By using a fluorescent lamp instead of a conventional miniature lamp, a consumption power is decreased, and by increasing the size of the contact rotary part of the dynamo in a way to cover it with a friction member, e.g., rubber, resin, a bicycle pedal load can be relieved relatively. By performing charging during the daytime by providing a battery charger, a load during running at the night can be reduced.
