Title:
HEAT AND CORROSION RESISTANT PROTECTIVE TUBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3389436
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breaking due to thermal stress and corrosion by metallic elements in ash produced by incinerating garbage in the case of use in a furnace for retreating and melting the ash, to prolong service life and to ensure heat capacity not causing problem on temp. control by specifying the outside diameter, inside diameter and thickness of a ceramic tubular body with the front end sealed.
SOLUTION: This protective tube 1 consists of a cylindrical lateral face part 1a and a hemispherical sealed front end parts 1b in a smoothly curved continuous shape and the outside diameter d1(mm), inside diameter d2 (mm) and thickness (t) (mm) satisfy conditions represented by the formulae. The thickness (t) is measured at a part close to the open part of the tube 1 or at the central part of the sealed front end part 1b. The thickness (t) is preferably in the range represented by the formula over the entire tube 1. Various ceramics may be used for the tube 1 but ceramics contg. ≤50mol% MgO and ≥50mol% Al2O3 so that the molar ratio of MgO to Al2O3 is regulated to ≤1 and having a crystal phase of MgAl2O4 and/or Al2O3 is preferably used.
