To provide a heat developable photosensitive material and an image forming method by which an image density is high even in rapid processing, density unevenness is not caused in heat development, color tone in a high density part is made excellent and a light radiation image preservability is made excellent, and to provide an image forming method by which the image preservability in further higher temperature image preservation is excellent, and a film transportability and an environmental adequacy are made excellent, if necessary.

In the heat developable photosensitive material having an image forming layer containing an organic silver salt, a silver halide, a binder and a reducing agent on a support, the quantity of silver to be applied is 2.05-2.70 g/m2 and a layer provided in the side including the image forming layer across the support contains a radiation absorbing compound which brings total absorbance of 0.60-1.00 in an exposure wavelength through the total layers provided in the side including the image forming layer.
