To improve heat exchange efficiency of a heat exchange element and of an energy-recovery ventilator using the same.
A heat exchange element 1 is provided in which a plurality of heat transfer plates 2 each with a rib 3 as an interval holding means for holding an interval between the heat transfer plates 2 are layered, and an air supply passage 4 and an air discharge passage 5 are formed alternately one layer by one layer, wherein the heat exchange element 1 is configured in such a way that at least a part of the heat transfer plates 2 are layered so as to be shifted to a direction of the longest diagonal line. As a result, the heat transfer plates 2 in positions where an air volume is reduced, are layered so as to be shifted, thereby a variation in an air volume in the heat transfer plate layering direction is suppressed, which produces an effect of efficient heat exchange between air in the air supply passage and air in the air discharge passage.
