To provide a heat exchange type ventilator improved in the draining performance of humidification water.
This heat exchange type ventilator includes a heat exchanging means 2 for exchanging heat between outside air and indoor air, an air distributing means 4 for supplying the outside air taken from an outdoor-side air supply opening 1 through the heat exchanging means 2, indoors from an indoor-side air supply opening 3, an air discharging means 8 for discharging the indoor air taken from an indoor-side air discharge opening 6 through the heat exchanging means 2 outdoors from an outdoor-side air discharge opening 7, a humidifying means 5 disposed between the air distributing means 4 and the indoor-side air supply opening 3 for humidifying the air in supplying the air indoors, a water supply means for supplying humidification water to the humidifying means 5, and a draining means for draining the humidification water from the humidifying means to a drain pipe 13, and a drainage back-flow preventing operation is performed to operate the air distributing means 4 during a duration of back-flow preventing operation after the termination of the humidifying operation by the humidifying means 5.
