PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the leakage of air at the corner of a heat exchanging unit with a constitution, capable of being manufactured comparatively simply and inexpensively.
SOLUTION: A heat exchanging element 10 is provided with a frame body 13 for retaining the configuration of a heat exchanging unit 5, constituted of a pair of element covers 11, covering the upper and lower surfaces of the heat exchanging unit 5, and element frames 12, whose ends are fixed to the four corners of the element covers 11 to connect both of the element covers 11 so as to be apart from each other with a predetermined space and which are provided with a hook shape section, and is arranged in a heat exchanging unit, effecting ventilation while effecting heat exchange between feeding air, supplied from outdoor air into a room, and exhaust air, discharging indoor air to the outside of the room. Hook type notch units 11a, mated with the sectional configuration of the element frames 12, are provided on the four corners of the element covers 11. On the other hand, an angle between two sides in the section of the element frame 12 is set to be an acute angle less than 90 degrees.
