Title:
HEAT INSULATING ALLOY STEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH09263897
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To obtain a thermal expansion coefficient approximately same as that of a general tool steel, good matrix hardness and furthermore nitriding depth equal to that of an austenitic stainless steel in a heat insulating alloy steel having low thermal conductivity.

This heat insulating alloy steel is the one having a compsn. contg., by weight, 0.1 to 0.5% C, 3.0 to 7.0% Si, 5.0 to 18% Ni and 0.5 to 8.0% Cr, furthermore contg., at need, at least one kind selected from ≤2.0% Mn, ≤2.0% Al and ≤2.0% Mo, and the balance substantial Fe. In the matrix metallic structure of the heat insulating alloy steel, by area, ≥30% is composed of martensitic phases.
