To avoid thermal stress and hence ensure an excellent heat resistance and durability in a heat exchanger wherein heat is exchanged between different temperature fluids by making use of a heat pipe.
A heat pipe 9 is disposed over a high temperature chamber 1 and a low temperature chamber 2, penetrating a partition wall 3 separating the high temperature chamber 1 and the low temperature chamber 2 whereby heat is exchanged between fluids flowing in the chambers. In this case, a sealing part is provided on an outer periphery of an intermediate part of the heat pipe 9 penetrating the partition wall 3 for preventing the fluid from each chamber from leaking, and the intermediate part of the heat pipe 9 is held by the sealing part, and further an end of the heat pipe 9 on the side of the low temperature chamber 2 is fixedly held while an end of the heat pipe 9 on the side of the high temperature chamber 1 is held movably longitudinally.
