To provide a heat pump system which prevents deterioration in supply performance of hot water when a heat pump type heating apparatus fails without reducing a coefficient of performance.
Control units 102, 202 execute normal operation mode and abnormal operation mode. In the normal operation mode, when no failure is detected in all of the heat pump type heating apparatuses 2A, 2B, heating operation is executed, and when one temperature detection part detects temperature higher than a temperature reference value, the heating operation is terminated. In the abnormal operation mode, when a failure is detected at least in one of the heat pump type heating apparatuses 2A, 2B, at least one of the normal heat pump unit type heating apparatuses is controlled to execute the heating operation, and when a second temperature detection part having greater amount of hot water than one temperature detection part detects temperature higher than the temperature reference value, the heating operation is terminated.
