Abstract:
To provide a carbon dioxide compression and liquefaction system.
A system comprises a plurality of compressor stages (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) arranged in series for sequentially compressing a carbon dioxide containing gaseous flow. Between at least some of sequentially arranged compressor stages, inter-stage heat exchangers (15, 21, 30, 32, 34) are provided, to remove waste heat from the compressed gaseous flow and to transfer the heat towards an energy conversion unit (50), where at least a part of the waste heat is recovered and transformed into mechanical energy.
