Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoacoustic engine capable of attaining high impedance at a position of a heat accumulator, and increasing acoustic power density.SOLUTION: A thermoacoustic engine 1 is configured such that a plurality of prime movers 10 is connected in series, the prime mover including: a resonance pipe 11 configured to form a temperature gradient between both end parts of a heat accumulator 12 and amplify acoustic power and acoustic power density of operating gas, and filled with the operating gas; a heat accumulator 12 configured to heat and cool the operating gas; a heater 13 configured to heat one end part of the heat accumulator 12; and a cooler 14 configured to release heat of the other end part of the heat accumulator 12 to the outside. A length L of the resonance pipe is set so that an acoustic power amplification factor is equal to or larger than a value obtained by multiplying a ratio of a heater temperature and a cooler temperature by a value of 0.7-1.0.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
