PURPOSE: To provide a styrene resin composition resistant to the lowering of the thermal stability caused by the addition of a halogen-containing flame-retardant, by adding a specific boron compound to the styrene resin.
CONSTITUTION: A styrene resin composition containing a halogen-containing flame-retardant is compounded with a boron compound obtained by esterifying 1mol of a polyhydric alcohol with ≥1mol of a fatty acid and ≥1mol of boric acid. The residue of the polyhydric alcohol is preferably the residue of ethylene glycol, 1,4-butanediol, glycerol, etc., and the fatty acid residue is preferably the residue of stearic acid, oleic acid, etc. The boric acid residue is preferably the residue obtained by removing one hydroxyl group from orthoboric acid or meta boric acid. The amount of the boric acid is 0.5W50pts.wt., preferably 1W20pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the flame-retardant.
