To provide a heat storage system capable of utilizing exhaust heat of a cogeneration device at low cost.
This heat storage system comprises a fuel cell, a heat storage body mounted under a floor of a building to store exhaust heat of the fuel cell, an underground part located further at a lower portion of the heat storage body and having heat conductivity smaller than that of the heat storage body, heat storage piping laid inside of the heat storage body to allow the warm water receiving the exhaust heat of the fuel cell to pass therethrough so that the exhaust heat of the fuel cell is absorbed by the heat storage body, the warm water is cooled, and the cooled warm water is supplied to the fuel cell, and hot water supply piping laid inside of the heat storage body and the underground part to heat the water circulated inside by absorbing the heat stored in the heat storage body and the underground part, and to supply the heated water to a hot water apparatus. The hot water supply piping allows the water supplied to the hot water apparatus to be heated in advance by being passed through the underground part, and then to be supplied to the hot water apparatus after passed through the inside of the heat storage body.
